Angelina Sherie is a multi-faceted talent whose message is one of love, faith and encouragement. It’s these core values together with her passion for music that make-up the fabric of who she is. Whether she is touring the world with the country’s top corporate band “Simply Irresistible,” playing in concert venues all over the Southeast, or leading worship at churches, she uses her voice to tug at the hearts and move the soul. It’s no doubt that Angelina is a gifted and talented singer/songwriter, but what sets her apart and makes her intriguing is her gifting with the violin. Her mastery has led her to work with a bevy of artists such as Grammy-winner Chrisette Michele and can be seen playing alongside Gospel legend Kirk Franklin for BET’s Sunday’s Best and for Jussie Smollett and Estelle on BET’s UNCF Evening of Stars award show. As Angelina continues to perform on different stages and music festivals she uses every platform available to share her message and gift.
Angelina Sherie knew at an early age that she had a gift. As the daughter of parents who were musically talented, there was no question that Angelina would follow their footsteps. At the age of five, she moved with her parents to Atlanta from her hometown of Queens, NY. She immediately began her journey as a singer in the soprano section of her church’s ensemble. It was at the age of eleven that Angelina discovered another passion - the violin. Never could she have imagined that her hard work and dedication to mastering the violin would lead to an opportunity to train under and play alongside world-famous violinist Ken Ford. Mr. Ford's urban style of play had a significant influence on Angelina and sparked a desire to change the perception of the violin. She has had the honor of assisting the Ken Ford Foundation during his “Making the Violin Fun” workshops. Mr. Ford would also feature her in many of his concerts around the Atlanta area such as the Buckhead Theatre, the Wolf Creek Amphitheatre and the Porter Sanford Performing Arts Center.
Driven by a strong love for community and a passion to make an impact, she has devoted herself to volunteering at a number of organizations including Cool Girls Inc, Boys and Girls Club of America, and the YMCA. Angelina created an album entitled Kidz Rockand
partnered with Atlanta Children’s Shelter, to assist in the mission to educate children about various social behaviors, feelings and emotions. While serving as a youth mentor, Angelina was inspired by social work. That inspiration resulted in a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work, which Angelina earned from Georgia State University in May 2014.
Today, Angelina Sherie is fully dedicated to her music, which she considers to be a perfect blend of Pop and R&B. She is currently working on her debut EP, scheduled to be released in the Spring of 2016.
